did you know? Fair Housing Month is celebrated every april |
April is National Fair Housing MonthMost agree discrimination in housing is much subtler today than in decades past, but it does persist; be it out of ignorance or intolerance. Every April, the nation celebrates the strides we've made, and the work that remains to be done. Here at the Fair Housing Council (FHCO), we hold at least one major event each April. In 2008, for example, we initiated a groundbreaking tour of historic sites of housing discrimination and in 2009 we revisited libraries across Oregon and SW Washington for readings of A Pig Is Moving In to local children. To learn about these events, follow the links below. For more information on scheduling your own historic bus tour click here. For our annual Fair Housing Month Poster Contest visit here.
For details on this year's plans, please contact us at 503/223-8197 Ext. 108 or information@FHCO.org (please put "What's this year's FH Month event?" in the subject line).
