Housing + Medical Settings

There are no exceptions to federal, state, or local fair housing laws for housing that are combined with medical services such as adult foster homes, nursing homes, assisted living, continuing care retirement communities, etc. While state-santioned levels of care and medical responsibilities complicate the sinerio considerably when compared to other kind of housing, it is absolutely essential that long term care (LTC) providers familiarize themselves with their fair housing responsibilities as well.

Below are a few resources related to this topic. In addition, we also offer a "Fair Housing Basics" class just for LTC facilities, companies, and trade associations. Please contact dhess@FHCO.org for more information.
